Balconette & Demi Bras
Balconette and demi bras are defined by lift, structure, and an open neckline. Designed to shape from below, they create a naturally rounded silhouette that feels confident and refined — without compressing the breast tissue or pushing it up sharply the way push-up styles tend to. The cut suits a wide range of body types.
About this collection
This collection brings together demi cups, balconettes, half-cups, and quarter-cup styles in underwire and soft-cup constructions from houses including Chantelle, Simone Pérèle, Aubade, Lise Charmel, Cosabella, Panache, and our own Journelle Collection. Sizing extends from A through J cup across multiple band configurations.
From the fitting room: demi and balconette cups are cut to lift the breast tissue from below, which means cup positioning matters more here than in full-coverage styles. If the underwires dig in or sit too high under the arm, the cup is the wrong shape for your body type rather than the wrong size. Our fitters work specifically on cup-shape diagnostics.

Size is only half the story. Full-on-top, full-on-bottom, wide-set, close-set, teardrop, asymmetric — each shape is better served by a specific cup cut. Our guide maps every shape to the styles our fitters pull for it in store.

Book a Bra FittingBalconette Bras
The balconette bra has a low, horizontal cup cut that sits the bust high and wide, with straps set further apart than a standard bra. The effect is a rounded, lifted silhouette that works particularly well under wide or square necklines where a regular bra strap would show. Journelle's balconette edit is led by lace and embroidered styles — the cut lends itself to decorative fabrication because the low cup is designed to be partially visible. A white balconette bra under a sheer or open-neck top is one of the most classic lingerie-as-dressing moves there is.
