How do I put together a three-piece lingerie set that works for my figure?
From Expert: Stela
S came in knowing exactly what she wanted: a three-piece lingerie set in a light color for her boyfriend’s birthday. She’d already been browsing online and had a few sets in mind, so I pulled those alongside some of my own suggestions. She fell in love with the Loulou in Sky.
When it came to completing the look with a suspender, I made a swap. The suspender that comes with the Loulou is thicker and cuts straight across the hips — a beautiful choice for many figures, but for S, who has a shorter torso, I reached for the Sapna suspender in Sky instead. Both are the same color, but the Sapna’s triangular cut and thinner waistline elongate the torso rather than dividing it. The difference was immediately noticeable when she tried them side by side.
For the third piece, she wanted a leg garter. We didn’t have a matching Loulou style available in Sky, so I suggested the Anais lace garters — a delicate complement that kept the light, romantic mood of the set without needing to match exactly.
A three-piece set doesn’t have to come from the same collection — it just has to work together. Matching by colorway and choosing silhouettes based on your shape, rather than defaulting to whatever comes in the box, is how you build something that’s genuinely yours.
Expert Tip: A three-piece set does not need to come from the same collection. Match by colorway and choose suspender silhouettes based on torso length to build a look that is genuinely yours.
