About this collection
A suspender belt — or garter belt, depending on which side of the Atlantic you're on — sits between functional hosiery accessory and considered piece of intimate construction. At their best, they hold stockings smoothly while reading as part of a deliberate ensemble rather than as a costume reference.
This collection brings together lace and silk suspender belts, structured architectural styles, and matching-set pieces from houses including Bordelle, Bluebella, Studio Pia, Fleur of England, Agent Provocateur, and our own Journelle Collection. Sizing typically follows European conventions through L or XL.
From the fitting room: a suspender belt should sit at the natural waist, not on the hips, with clips falling at mid-thigh on most body types. If the clips reach below the stocking welt, the belt is sitting too low. The metal clips should open and close smoothly with one hand; if they require force, the hardware is poorly made. Hand-wash strap-and-clip styles to preserve the metalwork.

Garter Belts & Suspender Belts
A garter belt is the piece that turns stockings into an outfit decision rather than a hosiery one. Worn at the natural waist with four or six clips that attach to the welt of a thigh high stocking, it holds the leg smooth without compression and adds a deliberate element to a lingerie set that a hold-up stocking alone doesn't. Journelle's garter belt edit runs from lace garter belts in fine French lace — the kind that pairs with a matching bra and brief — to structured satin styles and architectural pieces from houses including Bordelle, Bluebella, Studio Pia, Fleur of England, and the Journelle Collection. Garters and garter belts size by waist measurement; most styles fit XS through L. If the clips fall below mid-thigh, the belt is sitting too low — it belongs at the natural waist, not the hip.
