Bralettes & Wireless Bras
Well-made bralettes use cup engineering, band tensioning, and strap placement to produce visible lift and shape without underwire — poorly made ones flatten and ride up within an hour.
About this collection
Bralettes are the lingerie category where construction matters most relative to price. Well-made bralettes use cup engineering, band tensioning, and strap placement in ways that produce visible lift and shape without underwire; poorly made ones flatten the bust and ride up the back within an hour.
This collection brings together stretch-lace bralettes, soft-cup styles with light support, longline bralettes, sports-adjacent wireless styles, and triangle silhouettes from houses including Cosabella, Hanky Panky, Eberjey, Stella McCartney, Else, Bluebella, Fortnight, and our own Journelle Collection. Sizing typically runs from XS through XL across the line.
From the fitting room: bralettes are not interchangeable with underwire bras for full-bust support, but for A through C cup sizes (and for some D cups in the right brand), a well-engineered bralette can give the same flattering shape as an underwire without the structure. If you've found bralettes flatten you, the brand was using stretch fabric without cup engineering rather than cup-engineered stretch.

Size is only half the story. Full-on-top, full-on-bottom, wide-set, close-set, teardrop, asymmetric: each shape is better served by a specific cup cut. Our guide maps every shape to the styles our fitters pull for it in store.

A bralette removes the underwire and the structured cup, replacing hard architecture with soft fabric — typically stretch lace, mesh, or modal — and a band or band-plus-elastic construction that holds through movement without a rigid frame. Bralettes work best for A through C cup shapes where soft support is sufficient and comfort is the priority; larger cup shapes often need more structure but can find wireless bras with molded cups or foam support that offer a middle ground. Journelle's bralette edit includes lace triangle bralettes, racerback styles, longline bralette designs, and soft wireless bras from Chantelle, Simone Pérèle, Eberjey, and Journelle Collection.
Bralettes have expanded into outerwear — fine lace or mesh styles with delicate straps read as a top under an open jacket or visible through a sheer blouse. If you're wearing a bralette as a top layer, look for structured-enough lace that it keeps its shape off the body. For sleep and loungewear, modal and cotton bralettes are the softer option.
