Bralettes & Wireless Bras
Bralettes are the lingerie category where construction matters most relative to price. Well-made bralettes use cup engineering, band tensioning, and strap placement in ways that produce visible lift and shape without underwire; poorly made ones flatten the bust and ride up the back within an hour.
About this collection
This collection brings together stretch-lace bralettes, soft-cup styles with light support, longline bralettes, sports-adjacent wireless styles, and triangle silhouettes from houses including Cosabella, Hanky Panky, Eberjey, Stella McCartney, Else, Bluebella, Fortnight, and our own Journelle Collection. Sizing typically runs from XS through XL across the line.
From the fitting room: bralettes are not interchangeable with underwire bras for full-bust support, but for A through C cup sizes (and for some D cups in the right brand), a well-engineered bralette can give the same flattering shape as an underwire without the structure. If you've found bralettes flatten you, the brand was using stretch fabric without cup engineering rather than cup-engineered stretch.

All Journelle fit advice is written and reviewed by our senior fitters — trained in bust anatomy, band mechanics, and cup-shape matching across every brand we stock.
Measure at Home
Our fitters walk you through the exact method we use in the fitting room — band measurement, bust measurement, cup-size math, and the S/M/L conversions for bralettes and wireless styles. Five minutes with a tape measure and you'll have the number we'd give you in person.

Size is only half the story. Full-on-top, full-on-bottom, wide-set, close-set, teardrop, asymmetric — each shape is better served by a specific cup cut. Our guide maps every shape to the styles our fitters pull for it in store.

The bralette sits between a bra and a crop top — wire-free, usually unpadded, and designed as much to be seen as to support. Journelle's bralette edit covers lace bralettes for layering under sheer tops or wearing as outerwear, soft triangle styles for lighter support days, and lacy bralette designs that pair with matching underwear. The trade-off versus an underwire bra is support for comfort — bralettes work best for smaller cup sizes or occasions where structure matters less than feel. Wire-free doesn't mean shapeless; the best bralettes are cut to flatter.
