An iris is one of our absolute favorite flowers. When the leggy succulent stems first burst forth from the chilly spring soil, you never know what you're going to get. The bold bluster of yellow on burgundy? A deep saturated purple-blue German iris? Or, if we're lucky, a soft and supple pink-and-white tongued bloom that is as delicate as it is cold-fierce. Oh so similar, we think, to the incredibly petal sweet iris chemise.
